I have anxiety. Help!

It is normal to feel anxious because it is a common emotion. In fact, having some anxieties can be helpful as its move you to get things done. If you look deeper into it, anxiety might also be a protection mechanism helping you to stay out of danger. But if the anxiety is exaggerated, that will turn your life upside down.

If you are currently experiencing some sorts of anxieties. You might have some of the following symptoms:

  • Feeling nervous, restless or tense.
  • Having a sense of impending danger, panic or doom.
  • Having an increased heart rate.
  • Breathing rapidly (hyperventilation)
  • Feeling weak or tired.
  • Trouble concentrating or thinking about anything other than the present worry.

  1. Stay in the present

Anxiety is about extreme worry in the future that hasn’t happen yet. Remind yourself to stay in the present gave you an opportunity to tell your brain that it’s safe to calm yourself down.

  1. Pick up a hobby / Interest

Have you notice even since you started your 1st job, you’ve been complaining you’ve got no time and eventually you gave up your hobby or interest? Well, perhaps it’s time to bring it back.

  1. Be grateful

Write down 3 small wins in your day and be grateful to them and learn to celebrate them at the end of the day before you retire in bed.

  1. Healthy Lifestyle

Eat well and sleep well. Do not ignore such simple daily routine as your body needs a lot of energy to heal and eating and sleeping well will reinvest a huge amount of energy to restore your body.
